Operation Agco

Lieutenant, this is Private Officer Maro, reporting.

0545H / Davao

The sun has just risen.

Another brand new day for my new mission, sir. I know it was a bit hard to locate this young man you were searching. I thought it was implausible to locate him, but no.

While lighting my cigarette along the junction of Ulas and Bukidnon-Davao Highway, I saw three Toyota Hi-Ace vans. They all looked brand new… and suspicious. There I saw groups of young people who were busy talking to each other. I surmised, sir, that they were all excited for their trip. And then, I saw someone that exactly matches the description of the person you were searching.

Finally, the long wait has come to an end.

Lake Agco, Kidapawan, North Cotabato

Male. 5’6” to 5’7” in height. Slim. Semi-faux hawk hairdo. Loves to wear aviator shades. Certified lefty as he wore his wristwatch on his right hand.

Positive identity of the subject.

So I followed their van. They were driving south of the city. Little did I know was, they were embarking on a trip near our camp at Kidapawan, North Cotabato.

1120H / Kidapawan

I maintained a safe distance of at least a hundred meters from the van. I made several attempts of shooting him but I always fail. It really was difficult. Unconvinced? Here are some proofs of why shooting him is a bit difficult:

He’s always with the group. Shooting together with his peers was futile.

Their group stopped by at a scenic point located just a few kilometers from the resort. While the group’s busy taking photos, I scrambled my way to the top of the hill which offered a great vantage point below. I was about to aim my weapon when I accidentally stepped on a boiling puddle of water. Sweet mother of Jesus, the water was scalding hot! And ugh, I can no longer tolerate the stench of sulfur – smelled like rotten eggs!

At the foothills of Mount Apo, the highest peak of the Philippines.

Strike two, Lieutenant.

1210H / Lake Agco

Finally arrived at the resort. Was surprised that there were so many people at the resort during that time. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. It’s Valentines Day, and a Saturday. Drat.

At Lake Agco Resort, Kidapawan, North Cotabato

They ate lunch together at a large hut.

Finally they decided to take a dip at one of the resort’s hot springs. Time to grab the chance.

But no, I was wrong. He’s still together with group; I can not afford of shooting innocent people, like what happened last month. I surmise he’d already knew about my presence.

Enjoying the dip at Lake Agco

They all enjoyed; I did not. They were happy; I was very frustrated.

1640H / Homebound

While lighting my cigarette at the entrance of the resort, I saw him but this time, he was all alone. He approached a Henna Tattoo artist and paid Php 50 for the service. I watched him from the distance until the artist’s done with his work.

Now, this is the perfect time to shoot him.

I approached him and politely asked, “Pwede ko po kayong picturan?”

He smiled and said, “Sure!”

L-R: Yours truly, the giant praying mantis and the ‘landstairs’

Mission accomplished.

I never thought that this mission would be THAT hard.

Phew.
