Road Trip to Dadiangas

Because a blogging event got cancelled due to personal reasons, I decided to tag along with mom and dad.

Destination: General Santos City.

The road leading to General Santos was quite rough, and it has always been like that. Despite the numerous potholes that we've encountered, we reached the Tuna capital safely.

Anyway, we stopped by at Tubak and took some photos.

What a breathtaking view.

The City of General Santos is the southernmost port city of the Philippines. Being a highly urbanized first class city, GenSan is one of the most populous urban centers in the country with a population of 679,588 as per census data of 2010. The city is bounded by municipalities of Sarangani Province namely Alabel in the East of the city, and Maasim in the South. The city is likewise bounded by South Cotabato municipality of Polomolok and Sarangani Province municipality of Malungon in the north, and the municipality of T'boli in the west of the city.

General Santos City is the center of commerce, trade, and logistics of Region XII and the South Cotabato, Cotabato City, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani Province and General Santos City (SOCCSKSARGEN) growth area (Wiki, 2011).

We passed by the construction site of SM City GenSan along San Miguel street. It was really big!

I have been to the downtown area GenSan when I was young. When I went there yesterday, everything had  changed. Like Davao, business is booming in General Santos.

Here are some photos I took from the balcony of my ninong's house who lived somewhere in Sarangani Heights.

I will be returning to GenSan this 26 to attend the Mindanao Blogfest and the awarding night of Philippine Blog Awards.

I am so excited to meet the Sox bloggers! Heard they're awesome!

Oh, before I forget, say hello to Tootsie the Pug! Fat Tootsie is fat!
