Chillin' at Guada's Villa

The thought of staying at a pension house seemed ordinary and blah - limited space, shared bathrooms and haunted.

Hey, it's Kuya Faust!

But everything changed when I opened the doors of Guada's Villa.

Journey to Ilonggoville: Guimaras Island

I must admit that I really, REALLY hate taking first flights.

You know, waking up at three thirty in the morning is not really my thing for I have to endure the ice-cold water from the shower and fight drowsiness. Oh, the laziness inside me.

Sunrise at Davao International Airport

It was around 4:15 AM when I finally arrived at the airport. I met up with my cousin and kaboom, a very long queue greeted us at the airport. But anyway we managed to squeeze our way to the check-in counter and waited for our 6:20 AM flight to Iloilo.

The sun was barely shining when we boarded the aircraft. One thing's for sure, I did not know what was in store for us . And oh, did I mention that my stomach constantly grumbled during the flight? Yeah, t'was a torture.

Goin' Italian at The Peak

Just after our meeting we headed straight to Gaisano Mall and holy gwakamowli, was I surprised after seeing the almost finished The Peak! It felt like I wasn't in Gaisano Mall!

The Peak

Anyway, we strolled our way around The Peak. While walking, Juy mentioned that Don Beppe offers delicious Italian food but comes with a price. We stopped by near Don Beppe and was a bit hesitant to go inside to dine there.

We were about to leave when Don Beppe himself chased us. Oh-oh, we're in big trouble.

Road Trip: Kidapawan, North Cotabato

Waking up is always the hardest thing to do. For me, it's a TORTURE!

These were the first few words I've heard when I woke up from my deep slumber (man it was the best sleep I've ever had) last Friday:

"Oh ano? Iwan ka nalang dito o sasama ka sa amin sa Kidapawan?"

What an awesome 'good morning' greeting. Yeah, and because I don't want to get stuck in our home together with our three noisy and forever hungry dogs, I groggily replied, "Opooooo sasaaamaaaa akoooo." I felt like a zombie that had gone back to life... back, back to life!

A Promised Land

DISCLAIMER: This is a work of fiction. Any similarity to persons living or dead (unless explicitly noted) is merely coincidental.

It has been two years since I've relocated here in Davao City for good. Like any other people who live outside Mindanao, the idea of living in an island filled with negative news is downright scary.

Leaving my hometown was truly heartbreaking but nonetheless, I regret nothing. It seemed like relocating to the island of Mindanao was truly a blessing in disguise because I learned a LOT of good things not just about the island but about me as a person.

And with that, I will share the most crucial moment of my life.
