It's The Final Countdown!

The Original Approachables

A lot of things had happened in the past few weeks, and this post is just an update about my not-so-awesome life outside my comfort zone. Heh!

Drumroll please... Ladies and gentlemen, we have just finished our second facility, the Manila Area Control Center (ACC). And guess what? We ALL passed the final check out! Yahoo! I still can't believe that we made it despite the doubts, stress, and anxiety! I honestly had a hard time in Manila ACC for the first two weeks of our laboratory phase because I can't properly decide whether I should use this procedure or the other procedure for a particular problem.

But all is well. We practiced, discussed on the possible solutions of the problems, and successfully finished ACC. And yeah, luck was by my side during the two evaluations. My problems weren't that complicated. God must be so good because during our dry runs, I'd always have the most difficult problems. Hooyeah!

We're now on our third and last facility, the Aerodrome Control Tower. ADC is more complicated because we have to handle both IFR and VFR traffic plus you have to be snappy. If you're too slow, your traffic would be chaotic. We are just hoping for the best. Woohoo!

Okay, so much for that. I have been going out for a few times to catch up with my non-aviation friends (yes, I group my friends accordingly, hahaha). All we did was to eat, and eat, and eat, and eat, and eat! Feast yourselves with these food photos!

Yeyyyy. Happy tummy with happy friends!

Burp!!!

My friends would always ask about the nature of my career. I wouldn't bother explaining them about the misconceptions and the truth about it. It is exciting and scary at the same time. True enough, there's no room for mistakes in our crowded skies.

A lot have also noticed my skin color. Mas maputi na ako compared before. Well, I haven't traveled for several months already and my skin had no choice but to go back to its original mestizo skin color (naks hahaha). It means one thing - I haven't traveled for a VERRRYYYY LOONGGG TIMMMEEE and that's highly unusual for a spontaneous person like me! I truly miss traveling. I miss going to the beach, I miss hiking, and everything under the sun. But I am still thankful that I have experienced those prior the training. Heh! Right now, I am planning to have a weekend break in Hanoi and Chiang Mai this September and November respectively. I should've stayed there for a week or two but sadly, I am only free during weekends. Cue sad music.

Well, aside from our can-you-eat-all (LOL) affairs, we also had a shoot last Sunday. Franz owned a home photo studio (Stratobox Studios) which was awesome and did a few shots. Teasers below:

And there's more to come!

And oh, by the way, I am going home this weekend and I can no longer contain my excitement!!! Fast forward to Friday night please! I can't wait to see my family again, my friends back in Davao, my dogs, my room, my fluffy bed, and everything else. I wouldn't stay there for long but I would definitely make the most out of very short vacation. I have an exam this Monday and that doesn't stop me from enjoying my stay in Davao!!! And besides, I'll be coming home again this May, HAHAHAHA.

Davao, where my heart is.

How about you? How's life?
