Florida: The Ultimate Family Holiday Destination

Is Florida the ultimate family holiday destination? According to the millions of visitors who flock to this sun-soaked corner of the States every year, the answer is a resounding 'Yes'! So what makes Florida holidays so special - and why is it the be-all and end-all of family holidays?

High up on the list of reasons is that Florida is synonymous with Disney. Home to some of the world's best-loved cartoon characters, princesses and childhood heroes, this is the place that most kids (and big kids) dream about. And of course, it has its fair share of white-knuckle thrill rides too! Spread over 47 square miles, Disney boasts enormous theme parks, water parks, golf, shopping, restaurants and of course, some amazing hotels.

Universal Studios is pretty hot on heart-pumping entertainment, too, and it goes without saying that there's more than enough across these two resorts to keep the little ones entertained for a month! As theme parks go, Florida has it pretty much sewn up.

Thrill rides aside, Florida holidays have so much to offer. Soak up the chic vibe of Miami, go shopping in Orlando, experience outer space at the incredible Kennedy Space Center, or take a walk on the wild side at the Everglades National Park.

If you're after more of a beach break, head to Florida's beautiful coastline to soak up the sun in the likes of Tampa, Clearwater or St Petersburg, where you can kick back on a sun bed while the kids build sandcastles to their heart's content, or try your hand at water sports in the sparkling shores of the Gulf Coast.

One thing's for sure, Florida holidays are pretty special. The easiest way to get to Florida is to opt for a package tour operator, like The Co-Operative Travel - http://www.co-operativetravel.co.uk/florida - which combines flights and accommodation to take the fuss out of traveling. It's the perfect way to escape with the family to the Sunshine State!
