2015 and Beyond

Before January ends, I just want to say that my 2014 was truly a blast. It was a year worth remembering: first time to visit Indochina (Vietnam and Cambodia), first time to ride an ATV, first time to cross a border, my first year of work as a licensed air traffic controller, and my first legit airshow experience in a first world country.

2015 is going to be awesome. More awesome, I suppose and I am owning it, just what I did to 2014.

  1. I am thinking of revising my #ThirtyBefore30 project. Thirty countries before turning 30 is a promising project but it would be challenging in my part because (i) I don't have paid leaves (don't ask me why; long story); (ii) I still have to secure a LOT of visas because the Philippine passport isn't as powerful as the first world passport; and (iii) air traffic controllers work even on holidays. I might settle to thirty cities before turning 30 years old. Well, who knows?
  2. Since the price of oil in the world market is continuously plunging for several weeks, major airlines have scrapped out their fuel surcharges. This means that airfares are relatively cheaper this year! Hurray! A few days ago, Cebu Pacific Air had their piso fare sale and the prices were really low, just like the piso fare four years ago. I am really glad that flying is getting more accessible. That means, I'd get to visit more places, both domestic and international cities, for less!
  3. I am going to visit Jakarta, and Yogyakarta this August. Woot! Time to celebrate my 25th birthday at a foreign land with my mom and aunt. I've heard and read so many things about Indonesia. I am ready to experience the rush hour traffic in downtown Jakarta (which is ten times worse than Manila, by the way), ride an ojek (Jakarta's local transportation), and temple running at Borobodur Temple.
  4. And also this year, I am going back to Kota Kinabalu but this time, with the #PositivePeeps! It's going to be our first vacation together. Hopefully I'd get to parasail at Pulau Sapi. Three years ago, we weren't allowed by the authorities due to the inclement weather that time.

Well, what are your plans and goals this year? Can't wait to hear your awesome plans for this year! :)

  1. Go for it! Wishing for more travels for you before you hit the big 3-0! As long as you go to countries that would allow you to cross borders then that would give you more countries. =)

    1. Hi Chester! Masaya sa SEA. Doon mo marealize na sobrang odd man out ang Pilipinas when it comes to culture. Mas maappreciate mo ang significance ng heritage. :)

  5. First of all, I like the design of your blog. It looks clean and easy to the eyes. Congrats on your 2014 travel. I wish I can do more travel this 2015. My travel plans are to go back to Europe and of course come back to our dear Pinas (I'm an OFW) and visit some of our finest beaches. That TAO trips in Palawan looked so good.

Like you I was in Indonesia last year. Visited Bali, Yogyakarta and Jakarta for about 16 days... then went to Greece (3 weeks) and Turkey (18 days).. My domestic destination was Batanes which I did earlier in 2014. Hopefully I can do more this year and my work doesn't interfere with my travel plans.. :D
