Seasonal Guide to Exploring Europe

As winter approaches, there are a couple of things to be grateful for – putting away the razor and getting away with unkempt hair growth when it otherwise might be uncool, snuggling under a blanket becomes fun again, Schnapps could become your go-to tipple and if winter sports are your jam, you can dig out the gear and plan your winter vacation.

Loads of winter vacation ideas can be found at Mrhudsonexplores.com but if you’re thinking of hitting the slopes and a luxury chalet is all you’re good for, here are Europe’s finest chalets to explore and lust over:
Chalet Zermatt Peak – Zermatt, Switzerland

Crowned the Best Ski Chalet in Switzerland 2013 and rated 5 stars+ by the Swiss Hotel Association, this is chalet chic defined.

You’ll enter via private lift and tunnel, to be met by staff for a champagne on arrival for a once in a lifetime holiday.

Be entertained by your own cinema, library, gaming console and sound system, an open-fireplace while you wait for your personal chef to serve up international culinary delights. For the active, there’s a fully-equipped, state of the art gym then sauna, steam or soak in the hot tub, knowing a masseuse is on your speed dial.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Feeling the zen?

Chalet Rock n Love - Tignes, France

For something retro, that screams rock ‘n’ roll with guitars ‘n’ cars, quirky Chalet Rock n Love is it.

A vintage Mini Cooper pool table, jukebox, outdoor jacuzzi, heated indoor pool (inflatables included!) and gaming console, this chalet houses you and up to 13 of your nearest and dearest.

The place is big on color and flamboyance – hum along as you spot song lyrics embroidered into the floor coverings - but if the rock star lifestyle becomes tiresome, you have your own private gym, steam and massage room.

Party on!

Chalet Montfort, St Anton

Space is never an issue at Chalet Montfort with ten bedrooms (and en-suites), sleeping up to 24 guests. Your posse can relax in the living space, designed to be the central hub, with open fireplace, private bar (cocktails, anyone?) and cinema. Warm tones, woods, leather, and furnishings give an instant calm, feels-like-home vibe.

Lavish in your private sauna and massage room to escape when the resort’s bars and restaurants, or your company, aren’t doing it for you anymore!

Ski lifts are minutes from your chalet, for those who might actually be there for winter pursuits!

Chalet 1551 – Lech, Austria

Opening December 2017, this new kid on the block will redefine luxury. Their website convinces us, we’ll feel like royalty at Chalet 1551.

A big call, so what’s on offer that will deliver that? Start with collection by snow scooter and a whisking away to your awaiting luxury abode. Check!

With interiors by CasusCasa, expect high quality and impeccable taste. Everything in the chalet is the highest quality possible and the materials and textiles (mostly Italian) are tastefully chosen. At the push of a button, your chalet becomes an ambient, candlelight-lit space for you and your guest (or the other 10 of them!). Expect to see leather flooring…heated, of course. Austrian linens, chemical-free toiletries, the fluffiest towels to ever touch skin and stone carved sinks are icing on an already decadent cake.

Did we mention the chauffeur-driven Range Rover? The chef and host, masseuse, yoga instructor, childcare, party planner or helicopter transfer on request? It makes the usual spa, steam room, saunas, massage room, state of the art sound system and mountain and village views seem ho-hum.

Aaah, we can dream, can’t we?
