There are places in this world that refuse to change, where time seems to rest its weary head. Camiguin is one of them. Fourteen years ago, I set foot on this small island in the Bohol Sea during a college field trip for an Art and Society class. It was a pilgrimage back then, a young student’s journey to find beauty in simplicity and art in nature. This year, I returned—not as a student, but with office friends, drawn by the promise of nostalgia and the bountiful Lanzones harvest, an irresistible lure for anyone familiar with Camiguin’s golden reputation.

Exploring Puerto Princesa, Palawan For The First Time!
The plane descended, and as the clouds parted, I caught my first glimpse of Puerto Princesa, Palawan—an island I had heard about in passing, yet never visited. I had traveled far and wide, from bustling cities in Europe, Australia, and North America, to tranquil temples in Japan and Korea, yet somehow, I had never set foot in this part of my homeland. The irony wasn’t lost on me as the plane landed; this was my first time in Palawan, despite having been to places half a world away.

Summer in La Union
A famous line from Robert Frost says that for you to grow, you need to take the road less traveled. However, it is not about your journey but about who you were with. So, my friends and I decided to spend a few days and nights at La Union, commonly known as Elyu. In this blog, we will discover what draws the city-dwellers, like us, to this beautiful and quaint town of the north. Let's find out about the beautiful province of La Union.

A Short Staycation At K Lebrix Lakehouse
Since last year, it has been a tradition of my close colleagues to organize a getaway somewhere far from the metropolis. You know, as self-proclaimed food adventurers we are, it's one of our ways to destress aside from discovering new coffee shops, restaurants, and bars around the area.
And off we go to the place I've never heard of before. I was excited because
it's been a while since I've embarked on an adventure, especially in this
crazy post-pandemic era.

Ilocos Region: The Adventure to the Great North
Ever since I started working, I have traveled to various countries–South Korea, Australia, Canada, Japan, and Indonesia, to name a few. It gave me a broader perspective on life. I got introduced to unfamiliar cultures, met new friends along the road, and explored the underrated cities. But I'm going to tell you a secret. I haven't explored my home country much, and it's a shame.
The Philippines has much to offer, from highlands to islands, from the towering verdant landscapes to the turquoise and cerulean waters. It was a personal choice not to explore my own country because I thought I had already known my home country. The truth is, I barely scratched the surface. Every region is unique–culture, language, and food. Years after traveling abroad, it felt like I had become a stranger in my own country. Now it is about time to get reacquainted with my motherland. With my friends, I traveled to the north to visit the Ilocos Region, my paternal grandfather's hometown. It's a shame I don't speak their language, and my knowledge of this region is limited. Welcome to the Ilocos Region, the best of culture and nature, and the heritage village of the Philippines.

Legazpi Village, Makati City: Through The Eyes of 7Artisans Lens
Okay, I haven't been updating my travel blog for two reasons: One, there are still travel restrictions around the Philippines, and there is nothing we can do about it. Traveling isn't the best thing to do right now, especially in the middle of a pandemic. And two, I have already finished writing and editing all of my backlogs from my previous travels.
Anyway, this post isn't just for the sake of updating my travel blog, but this is something about rekindling my passion, and that is writing and photography.

Walking Around Legazpi Village, Makati City
It's been a while since the last time I stroll around Legazpi Village here in Makati CBD. Ever since the lockdown last March 15, I'm always at the condo because obviously, I don't want to get infected by COVID-19. More so, it was during that time when the national government imposed the strictest community quarantine. Basically, I was just confined to the four corners of the unit, except when I go to work. It was only this month when I decided to walk around Legazpi Village. I really love this neighborhood.
