Snapshots from the Road (Mindanao Version)

Road trips may be tiresome to others but for me, it's the opposite. Whenever we have road trips, I always make sure that I don’t fall asleep as I would not want to miss seeing the beautiful landscapes of a particular area whilst listening to my favorite road trip playlists.

These are some of my favorite photos taken from my previous road trips in Mindanao.

Traversing the Davao-Bukidnon Border

Buda is the place to be.

If there's one place in Davao Region that I would want to visit all over again, it's definitely Buda (Bukidnon-Davao). Buda is the favorite destination of travelers who choose to unwind and relax from the bustling metropolis, all thanks to its cool climate and clean environment.

Nanay

As I pulled up my bedding, nanay dimmed the lamp's light and started sharing some bedtime stories. It had been my nightly ritual until I was nine. Nanay had already shared countless stories ranging from fairy tales to local monsters (see also: aswang).

But there was one story that stood up and will be forever etched in my mind.

One Rainy Day at Samal Island

The thought of venturing an island tour with your crew on a rainy day wasn't really a great idea. Juy and I were actually hoping that the tour will be called off due to the bad weather. Since everything's settled for the shoot,  we had no choice but to brave the cold and the big waves of Davao Gulf... or so we thought.

On my way to Sta. Ana Wharf, I was silently praying that the rain would stop and the ride wouldn't be that rough. Surprisingly, the weather cooperated and everything went well.

It even exceeded our expectations!

My First Binondo Food Trip Experience

Ni hao, mga kapamilya!

A day before my awesome Pinatubo trip, my friends and I decided to pig out at Binondo - Manila's Chinatown. It is actually one of the oldest, established around 1594. Today, Binondo is the place where most Filipino-Chinese families reside.

I have never been to Binondo before thus, this Oriental gastronomic adventure was new to me.

Food Trip: Ranchero Davao

Aside from being an outdoor adventure destination, Davao offers a wide array of restaurants to satisfy one's palate. True enough, Davao is a great place for a gastronomic adventure. This is a perfect alternative if you are not into outdoor activities. *wink*

On our first day with Iloilo blogger Mary Jane Cabrera, we ate lunch Ranchero.

FLYING: More Fun in AirPhil Express!

AirPhil Express (IATA: 2P / Call sign: ORIENT PACIFIC), formerly known as Air Philippines, is the country's third largest airline in the Philippines in terms of passengers flown. From January to September 2011, it had flown at least 3 million passengers.

AirPhil Express is Philippine Airlines' solution to Cebu Pacific Air's dominance on the low cost travel market in the country.

I had my first flying experience with AirPhil Express last November 14, 2010 and it was also my first time to ride a Q400 turboprop plane enroute to Cagayan de Oro City. My first experience with AirPhil Express gave me a good impression since my 20-minute flight was smooth and hassle-free.

Since the company's rebranding last 2010, AirPhil Express had given reliable services to its passengers at a very affordable price.
