5 Things You Should Know About Singapore Airshow 2018

Singapore Airshow 2018 is just around the corner, and I can no longer contain my excitement. Happening this February 6-11, 2018, the Singapore Airshow 2018 showcases both commercial and military fixed and rotary aircraft. Four years ago, I attended this event, and I was pretty much blown away by it.

For those who are watching this airshow for the first time, here are the five things that you should know about this event.

One - it only happens every two years. In case you miss this year, you have to wait for February 2020. There's a reason behind it. We all know that Singapore's Changi International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. Since the airshow is happening at Changi Exhibition Center, some flights might be put on hold due to the close proximity of the event. It requires coordination between the adjacent facilities, dry runs, and a whole lot more.

Two - the static displays are so expansive. From Airbus, Bombardier, to Bell helicopters, you'd just realize the massive growth of the aviation industry. And don't get me started on their live airshow! It's one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen! Just let these photos tell the whole story. I'm still in awe while reminiscing my first airshow four years ago.

Three - Bring your telephoto lens. If you don't own one, you can borrow from your friend. I tell you, it's worth it.

Four - It can get hot and humid during the show. Singapore is infamous for its super hot and humid weather. Keep yourself hydrated, wear comfortable clothes (Dri-FIT is recommended), and don't forget to eat. Don't worry, there are airconditioned tents for your conveniences inside the Changi Exhibition Center. Food and drinks are also available inside, just don't forget to bring some cash. I'm not sure but the last time I went there four years ago, they only accept cash. More so, the lines are crazy, so you better arrive at the early for you to secure a good spot on the airshow.

Five - the last but not the least, enjoy! For aviation enthusiasts, this is a perfect event for you. I mean, from where I came from, we don't have this kind of aviation related event that is so grand majestic. Also, Singapore is also a great place to explore, so I guess it's a win-win for everyone coming to Singapore this week.
