Kadayawan - The King of Festivals

Kadayawan Festival
Colorful culture of Davao.

Every third week of August, Davao City becomes more vibrant and more colorful. The main streets are decorated with colorful buntings and fruit stands sprout like mushrooms as they sell Davao-grown fruits such as the famous Durian, Mangosteen, and succulent Pomelos sell at rock bottom prices. Kadayawan Festival, dubbed as the King of Festivals, is just around the corner and I cannot wait myself to experience it again this year!

DB Tour 2012: The Adventures of the Toril Trailblazers

Four teams. Twenty-eight destinations. One epic journey.

The Davao Bloggers in partnership with City Tourism Operations Office and SMART Communications had their very first familiarization tour in Davao City. The tour was divided into four groups: Calinan Thrillseekers, Toril Trailblazers, Downtown Explorers and Uptown Adventurers.

For the Love of Aviation!

I will be forever in love with aviation; it's my first (and last) love! I couldn't imagine myself if I live a few centuries back where ships and horses are the primary mode of transportation. I am truly grateful that I live in a generation where human beings and airplanes coexist with each other.

Just last week, I purchased a new toy, my new Canon 1100D. It's actually an upgrade since my new toy's capable of recording HD videos. And for my first subject, I went to the control tower yesterday to take videos and pictures of planes departing and arriving at Davao International Airport.

Nanay

As I pulled up my bedding, nanay dimmed the lamp's light and started sharing some bedtime stories. It had been my nightly ritual until I was nine. Nanay had already shared countless stories ranging from fairy tales to local monsters (see also: aswang).

But there was one story that stood up and will be forever etched in my mind.
