Where to Stay at Siquijor: End of the World Guesthouse

end of the world siquijor

After taking photos of Siquijor's clean pier, we walked all the way to the main highway of Siquijor. And just what we have expected, we were greeted with Traysikolmamsers and Mamsertwopiptylangposaakins, instead of the usual "Good afternoon, welcome to Siquijor!". When Robbie told one of the drivers that we're going to the End of The World, Ate Gail and I thought that he was just joking.

No, he was dead serious that time! True enough, our next destination was End of the World... guesthouse!

Lorna's End of the World Guesthouse is just 10-15 minutes away from the port of Siquijor. It may have a strange (but undeniably a catchy) name but this guesthouse is a very awesome place that you could hardly refuse to visit, relax and have fun.

Along the highway.

A handwritten signage welcomed us as we arrived at the facade of the guesthouse. We rang the doorbell and waited for a minute or two. Then a half-naked Caucasian old man came and called his wife, the owner of the guesthouse. After a while, a petite woman who constantly wore an infectious smile emerged. We then inquired if there are still available rooms. It was a Wednesday afternoon, by the way and sure enough, the guesthouse wasn't fully booked.

Our room.

We got a room good for three people for only Php 400! At Php 133 each, it was already a great deal for the three of us! The room was pretty much basic, like any other inns - a bed, soft pillows, towels, toilet and a hot and cold shower. Although, I found the bathroom quite interesting because the bedroom and the bathroom were only divided by a shower curtain. It's a unique feature, actually and because of it, the room had this 'exotic' feel.

We were pretty exhausted that time because we had been traveling on the road (and on the sea) for hours thus, the relaxing view of the beach was a big reward for us.

Ate Lorna even offered us to use their boat. We were free to use it and later that day, we kayaked on the calm waters of Siquijor. Also, they allow guests to use some of their snorkeling gears for free!

Kayaking. Oh, there's Mica, Dylan and Gail!

You can also use their kitchen to cook your own food or you can even request them to cook food for you at a reasonable price.

It rained so hard that night and there was a minor leak inside the room. But we didn't mind it at all because the genuine hospitality and sweetness of Ate Lorna already won our hearts. She was actually the nicest person I've met along the road.

The next time I visit Siquijor, I will definitely stay here again... and have a photo with Ate Lorna!

Sunset

Mga members ata to ng unknown tribe, doing their sunset ritual dance! LOL

Lorna's End of the World Guesthouse is located along the Circumferential Highway, San Juan, Siquijor.

  13. siquijor is just on the other side of Neg Occ but I have never been there...too scared. My auntie and her husband went there for some pranic and faith healing...and he died! I think it was the distance that weakened him and took it's toll. heheh

  22. Ok, this made me wanna go to the End of the World. :)) But with a door-less bath like that, I'd have to be with people I wouldn't mind seeing me naked. ;)

  23. wow nice experience. i think for the lack of other amenities they compensate for the real 'beach front' access..

    1. When I asked the locals about it, natatawa lang sila, stating it's not true at all (within the coastal areas). Overall, the locals are super friendly and hospitable.
