Nom nom nom. |
For some, it was just an ordinary night. But for the Davao Food Appreciation Tour 2014 participants, it was a night to remember. We were all gathered in a dimly lit room, seated at a long table like King Arthur and his men. But, instead of planning for our next fight, we were there for one important mission: to eat as if there's no tomorrow.
The White House Fusion Cuisine and Wine Lounge apparently knew our weakness - FOOD.
This new restaurant is located at Camella Northpoint, near the Buhangin Flyover. When I was younger, I'd always see this house as we drive to the city from Buhangin District. It used to sit on top of a hill with an Acacia tree near the entrance and the flowering bougainvillea bushes served as a perimeter fence.
Today, the house is converted into a restaurant by Chef Cathy Binag and currently serves Japanese-European fusion cuisines. Not to mention that the house is now surrounded by towering condominiums of Camella Northpoint. Despite being overshadowed by tall buildings, The White House Fusion Cuisine and Wine Lounge's dishes remain on top base on quality, presentation, and of course, taste.
Here are the dishes presented during DFAT 2014:

Fusion dishes are always exciting. You get the chance to taste the best of Italian, Japanese, and French dishes in one plate. It seemed that my taste buds screamed for joy after trying these. We. Were. All. In. Awe. I swear to the gods and goddesses of the Seven Kingdoms. My personal favorite is their US Top Blade Beef and Grilled Angus Prime Rib Eye. Oh, scratch that. I LOVE EVERYTHING IN WHITE HOUSE.
And the fun didn't stop there. Presenting The White House Fusion Cuisine and Wine Lounge's desserts!

Bibingka Super Special |

Yamamomo Cheesecake |

Brioche French Toast |
 |

Banoffee Tart |
Because I love strawberries and bananas, my personal favorites were the Yamamomo Cheesecake and the Banoffee Tart. Oh my...
The White House isn't just about the food, it's the total dining experience that really makes your visit to this restaurant a worthwhile experience. The ambience is so perfect that despite its close proximity to downtown Davao, it feels like you're in a secluded place. It's a perfect place for romantic dates! You'll fall in love with the place.
