To The Land of Oz: An Overview of Sydney, Australia

I was only ten when I first heard about Sydney, Australia. During that time, the city hosted Millenium Olympics, but I never paid attention to it. It wasn't until three years later when I encountered this city again, this time in the movie, Finding Nemo. I thought to myself why not visit this country. From then on, it became an obsession. I have begun reading fun facts about Australia - its unique flora and fauna, culture, food, and its accent.

Fast forward to 2017, I managed to find a cheap flight to the Land Down Under, and next thing I knew, I was already there!

Four Days Isn't Enough

It was a foolish idea of just booking a four-day holiday in Sydney, and I regret it so much. I should have stayed there at least a week to fully appreciate the place itself. There's so much to see in Australia, let alone Sydney. It was my longest flight yet, but the long journey to the land down under was truly worth it.

From Highlands to Islands

Sydney is a beautiful city. It's modern, traffic is still tolerable, has an efficient mass transportation system, and it is surrounded by towering verdant landscapes and cerulean seas. Both are easily accessible from Sydney. I never imagined I'd hiked the same trail of Charles Darwin during his Australian expedition in the late 19th century at the Blue Mountain Range, and to walk along the famous shores Bondi, Tamarama, and Manly Beaches, the one that I always see on National Geographic.

I Shall Return

Four days wasn't enough to explore and to immerse with the Aussie culture in Sydney. I would definitely go back there early next year. No words can express how happy I am when I got there. Sydney left me speechless. My heartfelt gratitude goes to my mate, Jason, for being a wonderful host. Thank you!
