| Let's go to beach, beach, beach! |
I went home at around 12 midnight. Call time for the Banana Beach affair was 7AM. Because I was still in hyper mode and was still busy on uploading photos on Facebook (and that includes random video hopping on You___, yep you've guessed it right, YouTube!), I slept at almost four in the morning. I set the alarm at 6:00 AM. The next thing I knew, it was already 6:52 AM.
So much for the 7AM call time!
But then again, a brand new adventure awaits! I shouldn't miss this!
Deep in the jungles of Barangay Madaum of Tagum City lies a cozy resort named Banana Beach. Nope, the resort is not surrounded with banana trees nor it is located near a banana plantation. It was named as such because it's located inside banana plantation! Oh diba! I have heard about this from my friends and I was really excited because I miss the blue sea and sand. Travel time is approximately one hour, depending on traffic.

The staff members of Banana Beach were so accommodating that they toured us around the complex. Thank you for being nice to us! One can stay overnight at Banana Beach in one of their casitas. You can sleep in luxury or opt for an exotic style of accommodation.

It's the first of its kind here in the Philippines and Banana Beach Resort isn't just about the beach per se. They also toured us to Lanikai Resort, which is a 10-minute drive from Banana Beach Resort. But if you choose to walk, it will take you forever. Lanikai is a Hawaiian word which means "heaven by the sea". When we went there, it was literally a heaven by the sea! The air was very fresh and the place was indeed serene and exclusive. It used to be a heritage house, but now turned into a boutique hotel.

Next stop: The Forest Tour featuring the not-so-evil monkeys and wild boars.
Together with our guide, we entered the dense jungle of Hijo plantation. If you're planning to shoot an aswang-themed flick, visit this plantation and find this spot; it is a perfect place to shoot the "hinahabol ako ng aswang" scene... or something similar to that! Along the road, we spotted several monkeys (but actually they're long-tailed macaques but I prefer calling them monkeys) and wild boars.

We stopped by near a monkey and we were all like, "Hey kuya monkey, smile naman diyan!". The monkey squealed with anger and showed off his sinister-like teeth. We got scared, duh! Hahaha, apparently kuya monkey wasn't in mood to have his awesome selfie to be taken by us. LOL. Anyway, we stopped by near the starting point of the canopy walk. It's been a long time since the last time I walked on a foot bridge. It shook wildly but I loved it!
The canopy walk was 800 meters long and it felt refreshing as we walked through the dense jungle. I suddenly remembered all the things that I learned back in college. True enough, the smell of green and fresh air was truly precious, most especially if you live in an urban jungle. See also: Metro Manila.

Next stop: The Spot. This is the place where you could go fishing (not for compliments though) all day. Guests will have a chance to catch a fresh fish... and eat it like a champion.
And our favorite part of the trip? LUNCH TIME!!! These are my favorites: Sweet and sour fish and grilled squid! Feast yourself!
There are several activities that Banana Beach Resort offers: kayaking, banana boat, horseback riding, and frisbee. I miss riding banana boat though. I've already tried that in Boracay, and in Maxima (Samal). I believe their banana boat ride would give me the same thrill, excitement and pain as what I have experienced in the aforementioned places... hahaha! Pain, as in pama-ol! Oops, signs of aging? I hope not! Teehee!
Entrance fee is Php 700, but those who are residing in Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley will have 200-peso discount. The entrance fee is consumable! Yey!
My one-week vacation is now complete... well at least I get the chance to be in a beach, chilling with my friends. One day, when I get rich, I'd purchase a property near Banana Beach and aptly name it as "Potato Beach".
Banana-bananana! Potato-naaaaaa! Get it? GET IT?

Thnx for sharing! How funny i live nearby ang i was skeptical to chek this out as we used to go there when it is barret beach resort b4, i didnt know it turned this into a very fantastc place to hang up w/ fam&friends, as if it seems like i never see like this in entire phils. Hehe so proud of it!
