When in Davao, one does not need to travel two to three hours just to reach a decent white sand beach. Paradise Island Resort of the Island Garden City of Samal is just 5 minutes away from the bustling metropolis.
It was three in the afternoon when we arrived at the port of Paradise Island. Weather during that time was hot and humid - perfect beach weather. As we made our way to the resort, a group of men dressed in a Mexican-inspired attire greeted us while belting a Spanish song. Alalalala-bamba mi seniorita conchita! Alalalabamba! Arrrrriiiiiibaaaaa!
For merienda, we were treated with Pinaypay and Halo-halo - two of the country's famous merienda (afternoon snack) meals!
Later, the chefs of Paradise Island presented their Filipino-inspired meals. Mind you, all of their dishes were delicious!
Calamares A La Romana |
Chicken Binakol |
Pinaputok na Tiyan ng Bangus |
Seafood Curry |
Nom nom nom! It was one of the most sinful afternoons I've had!
Seafood overload!
