When in Davao, you will notice that there are lots of barbecue restaurants within the city. I think Davaoeños really love everything that is charcoal grilled. But in Penong's, it's more than chicken and pork barbecues and unlimited rice!
Penong's is about grilled food. Their chicken barbecue has earned the reputation of vein the best in the country and popular for its unlimited rice. Aside from their delicious grilled foods, they also serve an array of choices that will surely entice your taste buds - fish, seafoods, vegetables and a lot of dishes that Filipinos love so much. The barbecue dinners are served in "hometown" atmosphere with paramount care.
During the Sooo Pinoy event, they served us the following dishes:
Pinukotan - Seafood Basket for only Php 468 (good for 4 persons) |
Baby Back Ribs (Php 120 |
Deep fried talong (egg plant) |
A very apparent indication of how far Penong’s has moved forward is the addition of four other branches to the original Penong’s at Ilustre St., Davao City where it all began. These branches are now concurrently operating in Matina, Davao City, Sta. Ana Avenue, Davao City ,Tagum City and now with 11 franchise stores.
I'd recommend their baby back ribs and Pinukotan! Sooo sulit!
